Speaker
Douglas Phanstiel, PhD
My laboratory integrates cell culture, genome editing, genomics, and bioinformatics to define how chromatin architecture and regulatory elements shape gene expression and disease risk. By developing and applying cutting-edge multi-omic approaches in human iPSCs, primary cells, and ex vivo tissue systems, we have uncovered mechanisms of transcriptional control and translated them into new insights for complex diseases. I will present work on three fairly unrelated projects: the genetics of osteoarthritis, the development of data visualization software, and how to address red meat allergies using cellular agriculture.
